This is a business recruitment role, not a sales position. You’ll use StreetBook visuals and promotional materials to introduce the concept and invite local businesses to join for free. Your role is to start friendly conversations, explain how participation works and guide interested businesses through signup. StreetBook provides the digital platform, merchant signup system, training and recruitment materials. No technical experience is required.
Who we’re looking for
You enjoy meeting people and speaking with business owners. You’re friendly, self-motivated, organized and comfortable visiting businesses, following up and working toward recruitment goals. You communicate clearly and confidently, have a professional manner, and present yourself neatly and appropriately when representing StreetBook.
Experience that fits
Sales, advertising, fundraising, community marketing, social media, or print and promotional products experience can be helpful. Strong local business relationships are a bonus.
What you’ll do
Introduce StreetBook to local businesses, explain participation, help merchants submit appealing offers, follow up on signups and keep head office informed of your progress. Businesses join StreetBook free.
What you’ll need
A reliable way to get around—your own vehicle, a handy bus route, Uber, a taxi, or a friend who enjoys being your chauffeur! You’ll also need a smartphone or tablet and be comfortable communicating with local business owners. You’re not required to visit every business; some outreach and follow-up can be done by email or phone. In-person visits are recommended to help build local relationships.
A flexible opportunity with room to grow
Start with a part-time, commission-based merchant recruitment campaign. A launch campaign may run approximately four weeks. There may be opportunities for ongoing work as StreetBook grows; full-time work is not guaranteed. Compensation and responsibilities will be discussed before you start.
